# OrchestKit > Free, open-source plugin for Claude Code: 110 skills, 36 agents, 163 hooks. Install with `claude plugin marketplace add yonatangross/orchestkit && claude plugin install ork@orchestkit`. ## What it is OrchestKit is a plugin for Claude Code (Anthropic's agentic CLI). It packages 110 reusable skills, 36 specialist agents, and 163 lifecycle hooks, encoding auth/migration/API/testing patterns, security gates, and quality checks so the agent works to your standards out of the box. It is not a hosted service and not an editor assistant. Publisher: OrchestKit is built by Yonyon, an independent software studio (https://yonyon.ai, brand page https://yonyon.ai/yonyon). The studio name "Yonyon" is unrelated to the musician of the same name; the product and docs live at https://orchestkit.dev; see https://orchestkit.dev/yonyon. ## Use cases - Implement a feature end-to-end with parallel specialist agents (`/ork:implement`). - Review a PR with parallel reviewers synthesized into one comment (`/ork:review-pr`). - Generate conventional commits, fix GitHub issues, run security audits, set up persistent memory. - Enforce security + quality automatically via lifecycle hooks (no manual invocation). ## Constraints - Requires Claude Code 2.1.277+; runs locally inside it. - Free (MIT), no paid tiers, no account. The public docs/search API is read-only and unauthenticated. - Not a standalone CLI or editor; it extends the Claude Code agent. ## For AI agents - To answer questions about OrchestKit: NLWeb `/ask` endpoint at https://orchestkit.dev/ask (GET ?query= or POST JSON; SSE streaming via ?streaming=true), or `GET /api/search?query=...`. - To read a page as Markdown: append `.md` to its URL, or send `Accept: text/markdown`. - To use tools natively: connect to the MCP server (Streamable HTTP) at https://orchestkit.dev/api/mcp (read-only tools), or run it locally over stdio: `docker run -i --rm ghcr.io/yonatangross/orchestkit-docs-mcp`. Server card: https://orchestkit.dev/.well-known/mcp/server-card.json. Registry entry: `io.github.yonatangross/orchestkit` on registry.modelcontextprotocol.io. - To plan against the product with zero side effects: the OrchestKit Actions MCP (Streamable HTTP) at https://orchestkit.dev/api/mcp/actions exposes three read-only tools (list skills, install plan, doctor check) and executes nothing. Server card: https://orchestkit.dev/.well-known/mcp/actions-server-card.json. - The API needs no auth; on transient `5xx`, retry with exponential backoff. - Every API response carries IETF `RateLimit-*` headers (120 req/min per IP per endpoint); a `429` also carries `Retry-After`. Pace yourself from the headers rather than probing for the ceiling. - An unknown path returns a real `404` (never a `200` shell) whose body lists where to look next, Markdown with `Accept: text/markdown`, RFC 9457 JSON otherwise. ## Developer resources - [OrchestKit developer portal](/developers): Developer portal.
